Application of Pneumatic Silencers

Sintered silencers are installed on the exhaust ports of pneumatic valves, cylinders and pneumatic tools to reduce the noise generated by the rapid release of compressed air.

Sintered silencers have a porous structure that can filter out dust, debris and other pollutants from the exhaust gas.

Pneumatic silencers can also prevent the ingress of foreign matter and reduce the risk of damage to pneumatic components.

Regulate and stabilize the airflow within the system, helping with flow control.

FAQ's

Here are some of the questions we get asked often.  If yours isn’t answered, don’t hesitate to contact us, we’re happy to help!

Sintered pneumatic muffler consists of three parts: housing, porous metal material, and end connection. The porous metal material is made by powder metallurgy process, and has many pores inside, which can effectively reduce noise.

When compressed air is discharged into the atmosphere, turbulent air will be generated, which will cause noise. The sound-absorbing material of the pneumatic muffler is porous metal with many pores inside.

The airflow will be broken down into multiple small airflows, which will spread to a larger surface area through the muffler, thereby reducing the noise.

Yes, it can.

Here are some cleaning methodsfor sintered muffler:

Ultrasonic Cleaning
First you place the sintered mufflers in a nitrogen-protected furnace and heat them to 380 degrees Celsius for two hours. Then, you immerse them in an ultrasonic cleaner for about half an hour.

Chemical Flushing
You can also use chemical cleaners to dissolve contaminants in sintered pneumatic mufflers.

Pyrolytic Burning
For filters used in high-temperature applications, such as stainless steel start-up mufflers, you can expose them to high temperatures to burn off contaminants.

Conical and cylindrical pneumatic silencers have a larger surface area, can reduce more noise, and are suitable for applications with high flow rates and gradually decreasing pressures.

Flat pneumatic silencers are compact in size and suitable for small space applications. They have a smaller surface area of the absorbent material and are suitable for medium and low flow applications
