Applications of Oil Pump Rotor

BLUE’s oil pump rotors have been applied in Weichai, Cummins, Honda, Toyota, and many other engines.

When these vehicles are driving at high speeds, the engines run violently and need lubricating oil protection. Therefore, the oil pump rotor is indispensable.

In addition, some mechanical equipment also needs lubricating oil to protect the engine. The oil pump rotor pumps out lubricating oil to ensure the smooth operation of the equipment.

How Oil Pump Rotor Works?

The oil pump rotor consists of an inner rotor and an outer rotor, which are driven to rotate by the transmission device on the crankshaft.

As the inner and outer rotors rotate, multiple working chambers are formed between them, with their volumes constantly changing. On the oil inlet side, the chambers expand, creating a vacuum that draws in oil. The rotors then carry the oil to the outlet side, where the chambers contract as the rotors mesh, increasing pressure and pushing the oil out.

The inner rotor and the outer rotor need to be matched, and the radial clearance during assembly is usually 0.08-0.13 mm. In addition, the oil pump rotor requires high-strength and wear-resistant materials to ensure service life.

Mechanical Properties of Oil Pump Rotors Materials

Here are some common mechanical properties of oil pump rotors materials. The inner rotor typically uses FN-0208-30, while the outer rotor uses FL-4205-45Free to ask our team if you have any questions about materials.
